Construction Updates
La Vibora Demolition (Update 1), Sidewinder Refurbishment
With its permanent closure less than two months ago, quick demolition of the La Vibora bobsled roller coaster is under way. Track segments are coming down rapidly with multiple areas only having support columns still standing. Sidewinder has also begun an extensive refurbishment as its central hub has been deconstructed.
Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce (Update 6) & More
With an anticipated top-of-July opening date, both Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce and Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters continue to move along with construction. Wile E. Coyote’s Grand Canyon Blaster, a neighboring roller coaster, has also received a fresh coat of paint. Work also continues on the new Boomtown Bar structure.
Dino Off Road Adventure (Update 2), Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters & Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce (Update 5)
In Bugs Bunny Boomtown, the tower for Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce has been constructed, along with building structures. Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters is also moving along with its ride units in place. Across the park, more animatronics have been installed for the future Dino Off Road Adventure car attraction.
Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce (Update 3), Other Park Projects
Work continues on new attractions at Six Flags Over Texas as concrete as been poured for Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters and Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce. The installation of new EV chargers in the parking lot marches on, along with some other small projects within the park.
Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce (Update 2), EV Charger Installation
Crews continue working on new-for-2024 attractions in Bugs Bunny Boomtown as the concrete mold for Daffy Duck Bucket Blaster’s should be poured soon, along with the footers for Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce. The park is also in the process of installing EV chargers in the parking lot.
Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce (Update 1)
Six Flags Over Texas recently unveiled the addition of two Bugs Bunny Boomtown attractions for the 2024 season and construction is quickly progressing. After being removed to make way for Aquaman: Power Wave, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters makes its return. Also new for 2024 is Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce, a children’s drop ride attraction.
Bugs Bunny Boomtown Ride Removals, Various Park-Wide Projects
Changes are happening quickly within the park’s Bugs Bunny Boomtown section as Sylvester & Tweety’s State Fair-Is Wheel and Yosemite Sam’s Texas Tea Cups have been removed. Other park projects are in the works, such as upgrades to All American Cafe and a new wooden bridge structure in the park’s Texas section.
Mine Train & Park-Wide Updates, Rodeo & Caddo Lake Barge Paint Refreshes
Though daily summer operations have begun, improvements around Six Flags Over Texas move on. This update takes a look at theming enhancements, changes to the parking toll booth area and the continued progress of the second Roller Coaster Coffee location. Ride refurbishments also continue as Rodeo and Caddo Lake Barge are undergoing paint refreshes, while Runaway Mine Train receives its upgraded operating system.
El Sombrero Refurbishment (Update 2), New Dining Location
This quick construction update shows off the ongoing progress on El Sombrero’s new paint scheme, which will feature several vivid color options. The park is also renovating the former Miss Abby’s location as it will transform into a Cinnabon.
El Sombrero Refurbishment, New Ride Lockers, Park-Wide Projects
Extensive El Sombrero refurbishment is under way as the attraction receives a fresh paint job. Other theming enhancements, including upgrades to the park’s Mexico section, have begun. Additions coming up include a second Roller Coaster Coffee near the park’s entrance, along with free ride lockers at Aquaman: Power Wave.
Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 20), Gotham City Games Midway
Aquaman: Power Wave’s completion moves closer as ride signage and an entrance portal have been erected and construction walls have come down. Small segments of work continue, including the installation of a test seat and themed pieces. Six Flags Over Texas has also closed off the Gotham City games midway in what appears to be significant refurbishment of the area.
Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 19)
Aquaman: Power Wave creeps closer to making its first test runs. Construction walls have begun coming down as the ride’s perimeter fencing is installed. Crews continue to work on the queue and station and water is now being added to the attraction’s retention pond.
Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 18)
Though delayed another year, construction continues to move forward on Aquaman: Power Wave. Shade structures and railings have been installed in the ride’s queue and station. The retention pond and walls have been built out, while the first of two ride vehicles has been installed on the track.
Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 17), General Park Updates
Work continues on Aquaman: Power Wave as the splashdown pond progresses and new pieces are going vertical on the turntable mechanism. Around the park, new dining locations and expansions are being prepared for debut, along with a new shopping location in the France section.
Dining & Shopping Updates
A number of dining and shopping locations continue to undergo changes at Six Flags Over Texas. This latest update takes a look at Auntie Anne’s, the new Looney Tunes Mall facade, an updated location for Katz Coffee, France area enhancements and more.
Pirates of Speelunker Cave (Update 7), Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 16), General Park Updates
Paint refreshes and other big building changes continue to progress around the park. The dock area of Pirates of Speelunker Cave is shaping up with new themed elements, changes to the ride’s boats and more. Removed track has been reinstalled on Aquaman: Power Wave, along with new progress on the ride’s water pond and turntable mechanism.
Pirates of Speelunker Cave (Update 5), Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 15), Various Park-Wide Projects
Work continues to move quickly on Pirates of Speelunker Cave as it appears to be close to a grand opening. Aquaman: Power Wave progress also continues with the addition of a larger splash pool and updates on the turntable element. Other park projects include Looney Tunes Mall, more fresh paint and the relocation of some in-park services.
Pirates of Speelunker Cave (Update 4), Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 14), Various Park-Wide Projects
Work on the exterior of Pirates of Speelunker Cave has picked up as crews continue to transform the new entrance and outdoor queue. On the other side of the park, the turntable for Aquaman: Power Wave is beginning to take shape with some parts now onsite. Other big improvements, including a refresh of the Looney Tunes facade and Silver Star Carousel building, also continue.
Miscellaneous Capital Improvements
Several capital improvements continue around the park, including a new roof for the Buffalo Trading Post gift shop, an expansion of the Lone Star Twisters dining location, a new photo op mural in the Old South section and more.
Aquaman: Power Wave (Update 13), Pirates of Speelunker Cave (Update 3), Mr. Freeze (Update 3), Front Gate & More
Work continues on several projects at Six Flags Over Texas. Aquaman: Power Wave and Pirates of the Deep Sea continue to progress for their 2022 opening. Painting of the Mr. Freeze roller coaster appears all but complete. Major changes and improvements have also taken place in the park’s Front Gate and Old South sections.
