Coasters Opening Soon, Speelunker Cave Update, Even More New Dining Offerings
Several roller coasters and attractions are planned to open after lengthy refurbishments and upgrades, including The Joker, Runaway Mine Train, El Sombrero and Pirates of Speelunker Cave. On top of new food offerings at existing dining locations, Six Flags Over Texas has also teamed with Cinnabon to bring the popular brand into the park. Plus, we check out more ¡Viva la Fiesta! event festivities, which takes place on weekends now through May 7.
¡Viva la Fiesta! Kicks Off at Six Flags Over Texas, Plus New Ride Refurbs & Park Enhancements Begin
¡Viva la Fiesta! takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates now through May 7. The event features vibrant decor, several live entertainment offerings and specialty food items. The park also continues to work on improvements as El Sombrero begins an extensive refurbishment, the Mexico section sees new theming enhancements, ride lockers arrive at Aquaman: Power Wave, a second Roller Coaster Coffee location is teased and more.
Ride Spotlight - Aquaman: Power Wave | North America's First of its Kind!
Aquaman: Power Wave is the first ride of its kind to debut in North America. Built by Mack Rides, this high-thrill PowerSplash attraction features both forwards and backwards launches, reaching top speeds of sixty-three miles per hour. The water coaster also includes two spikes that stand at 148 feet tall and send riders plummeting ninety degrees. After multiple launches along the attraction’s 712-foot track, Aquaman: Power Wave ends with a huge splashdown.
Judge Roy Scream Reopens, New Restaurants & Food, Ride Lockers Coming Soon
Upgrades continue to take place at Six Flags Over Texas, including fresh paint, more flat ride refurbishments, new dining locations and food offerings and the addition of free ride lockers to select attractions. The new multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America. The ride opens this weekend to park guests just in time for Spring Break and Scream Break.

Six Flags Over Texas announced today that passholder previews will take place for the all-new Aquaman: Power Wave roller coaster on two weekends leading up to the ride’s grand opening. When it opens, the high-thrill Aquaman: Power Wave water coaster will be the first ride of its kind to debut in North America.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, announces the grand opening of one of the most highly anticipated new attractions of the year. The new AQUAMAN: Power Wave multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America and opens to park guests on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
Six Flags Over Texas Confirms the Permanent Closure of Harley Quinn Spinsanity
This weekend, Six Flags Over Texas confirmed via Twitter the permanent closure of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. Harley Quinn Spinsanity officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018 as part of the park’s newer Gotham City area expansion. Harley Quinn Spinsanity featured a unique triple box design, creating the ability to spin around on three different axes at the same time.
Tons of Park Upgrades Coming for 2023, New Event Details & Aquaman Updates
Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.
An Interesting Final Visit to Holiday in the Park 2022
Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows.

Six Flags Announces Q3 2022 Performance, Amends Cooperation Agreement with H Partners
Total revenue for third quarter 2022 decreased $133 million, or 21%, compared to third quarter 2021, driven by lower attendance partially offset by higher per capita spending. The lower attendance was driven by an increase in ticket prices and elimination of free tickets and heavily-discounted product offerings.
