Scream Break 2023 | Tons of Monsters, Crazy Sliders, Entertainment & Night Rides

New for 2023, Six Flags Over Texas debuts their Scream Break event. Taking place during their Spring Break celebration, this new nighttime event features access to Aquaman: Power Wave, rides, sideshow entertainment acts, haunted houses, a scare zone and more.

Six Flags Over Texas is currently offering free admission to a limited number of passholders each evening. Free admission must be redeemed at the Scream Break check-in booth and are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. A valid pass or membership is required. Scream Break tickets are still on sale for those without passes or if the free entry offering runs out.

This year’s Scream Break event at Six Flags Over Texas takes over all of Gotham City, along with a few areas just outside of it. The advertised ride line-up includes Aquaman: Power Wave, Batman: The Ride, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman Whip, The Riddler Revenge and Texas SkyScreamer. However, during our visit, both Judge Roy Scream and Pandemonium were also open and operating for Scream Break.

One of the less-advertised components of this year’s Scream Break event is the addition of various live entertainment acts. At Gotham City Stage, attendees can find music and several sideshow-like performances, including unicycle tricks, sword swallowing, hula hoop twirling and more. Near The Joker, a huge wheel-like contraption spins as a performer runs along it and does other insane, death-defying tricks. On top of this, two haunted houses, Arania’s Murder Mansion and Labsics: Classified!, are also included.

Scream Break features an abundance of monsters, scare actors and sliders roaming throughout Gotham City. They show no mercy and will go after everyone during the event! Scream Break’s limited attendance of 1,800 people guarantees that you will be approached by several monsters during the visit. The talented sliders, all dressed up in their best clown apparel, also have their own show outside the entrance of Batman: The Ride at 9:45pm and 10:45pm nightly.

The event features a handful of specialty drinks and adult beverages, located at a bar near the haunted house entrances. Pictured is the Skull on the Beach drink (non-alcoholic version). Equipped with a well-designed souvenir cup, the beverage includes Sprite, a strawberry mix, whipped cream and a cherry on top. Alcohol can be added for $2 more. Johnny Rockets, along with a standalone booth near Mini Mine Train in Boomtown, serve up food items during the event should one get hungry.
