Serious Building & Dining Upgrades Under Way at Six Flags Over Texas | April 2025 Updates

It has been two months since our last visit to Six Flags Over Texas and tons of significant dining and beautification projects are under way at the park. Major work is happening near the front gate, buildings are being demolished and restaurants are undergoing full remodels. On top of this, paint refreshes continue on both Titan and Sidewinder rides. Now that the park has added an executive chef to their team, new food is rolling out at multiple dining locations. We've never seen this many projects happening at once across the park!

Ride Refreshes Continue

Titan’s paint refresh continues as most of the outstanding work left involves painting supports. Sidewinder is also back, now sporting a bright red scheme on its main structure. Both attractions returned into operation during Spring Break.

Dining Changes in Full Force

The current dining changes happening at Six Flags Over Texas are quite intense with new menu offerings, structure demolition and remodels. Near the front of the park, La Cantina has a refreshed menu of tortas and Latin-inspired sides. Though not currently part of the dining plan, pass discounts apply to these new offerings. Stay tuned for our next video as it further highlights ¡Viva la Fiesta! and these new food offerings. Primo’s Pizzeria also has a refreshed menu, such as a reimagined New York-style pizza, salads and cannolis.

The end of Rancho de Pollo appears to be here as crews have demolished the shade structure and other various segments of the building. The Rancho de Pollo building has been at Six Flags Over Texas since its opening year in 1961. Chicken dishes can now be found at Casa de las Banderas. In Texas, E.G. Sugarwater’s has been stripped of signage, menu televisions and point of sale equipment as a refresh looks to be in its early stages. JB’s Smokehouse BBQ is also closed for the spring for a refresh. The inside is being extensively remodeled and the express booth out front is also getting a facelift. Signage indicates that JB’s will be reintroduced this summer.

More Improvements Park-Wide

Dining locations aren’t the only area in focus. Spain is currently completely closed off with the exception of La Fiesta de las Tazas and First Aid. At the park’s front gate, substantial ground work is under way, along with some building demo. We’ve noticed more markings near Flags Funnel Cakes, likely indicating additional ground work in the future. Visit our Construction Updates page for a more in-depth look at these park projects.
