Six Flags Over Texas Invites Guests to Go All Out with Spring Events Starting with Spring Break
Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced the park’s lineup of thrilling spring events, featuring live performances by local musicians, a vintage-inspired haunt, a rare total solar eclipse, a major milestone for a classic ride, and a celebration of Latin American culture.
Six Flags Over Texas Announces 2024 Park Improvements
Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced new park enhancements for the 2024 season. One new ride, Sylvester and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, and one returning ride, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, will be coming to the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park Memorial Day weekend. A retheming of the classic Chaparral Antique Cars into Dino Off Road Adventure will follow later in the summer.
Two New Children’s Rides, Other Improvements Coming to Six Flags Over Texas in 2024
Six Flags Over Texas recently filed a project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that includes $2 million worth of upgrades for their Bugs Bunny Boomtown area. The scope of work described is for new paving and foundations for two new rides in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park.
Current Ride Closures/Refurbishments & Other Projects | December Park Update
Though Holiday in the Park is in full swing at Six Flags Over Texas, the park is also working diligently on ride refurbishments and projects. This December 2023 update takes a look at current expected ride closures around the park, along with a look at a ride removal and other small changes coming up for 2024.
UNCONFIRMED CANCELLATION: Six Flags Over Texas Unveils the El Rio Lento Log Flume Ride for 2024
Though Six Flags Over Texas has not made an official announcement (and may not), the new 2024 El Rio Lento project appears to be quietly cancelled. Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil El Rio Lento, one of the world’s longest log flumes. A makeover of the world’s first-ever log ride, El Aserradero, El Rio Lento will feature one new lift hill and two big drops, including a steep nosedive.
Fright Fest 2023 - Amazing Scare Actors, Several New Haunts & Shows
Fright Fest has returned to Six Flags Over Texas and takes place on select dates through October 31. This year's event features two new haunted houses, five new scare zones, several exciting new entertainment offerings and decor spread throughout the park. Our adventure takes a look at these new shows, the locations of haunted houses and in-depth travels through scare zones.
Kids Boo Fest 2023, Plus Daytime Scare Zone Walk-Throughs
Kids Boo Fest, Six Flags Over Texas' family-friendly Halloween celebration, takes place on Saturdays and Sundays through October 29. The event features costume contests, the Crazy Hay Maze, a trick-or-treat trail, Looney Tunes dance parties and more. We also take a daytime tour of all seven of the park's Fright Fest scare zones.
First Look: Summer Nights Spectacular, Pirates of Speelunker Cave & More Reopen
Six Flags Over Texas' Summer Nights Spectacular takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings now through August 12. Guests can enjoy specialty foods, live entertainment, fireworks displays, photo ops and more. Our visit through the park also highlights the reopening of Pirates of Speelunker Cave, Casa Magnetica and other attractions that recently underwent refurbishment.

¡Viva la Fiesta! takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates now through May 7. The event features vibrant decor, several live entertainment offerings and specialty food items. The park also continues to work on improvements as El Sombrero begins an extensive refurbishment, the Mexico section sees new theming enhancements, ride lockers arrive at Aquaman: Power Wave, a second Roller Coaster Coffee location is teased and more.

Tons of Park Upgrades Coming for 2023, New Event Details & Aquaman Updates
Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows.

Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.
