Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows.

Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.

Six Flags Over Texas debuts their all-new Holiday Market feature during Holiday in the Park. Taking place now through December 23, the area features several food and gift vendors, specialty food items, fire pits, holiday merchandise, visits with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, festive decor and more.

We are less than a week out from the beginning of Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. While a handful of details have been released, we take a loop around the park to piece together other event clues. Six Flags also hosted their Veterans Weekend event, which gave veterans and active military personnel free admission, along with several other perks.

Total revenue for third quarter 2022 decreased $133 million, or 21%, compared to third quarter 2021, driven by lower attendance partially offset by higher per capita spending. The lower attendance was driven by an increase in ticket prices and elimination of free tickets and heavily-discounted product offerings.

Fright Fest 2022 takes place now through October 31 at Six Flags Over Texas. Six Flags Over Texas invites us out for an up-close look at the testing of their new Aquaman: Power Wave attraction, set to open in spring of 2023. Today, Six Flags Over Texas announced that Aquaman: Power Wave, North America’s first PowerSplash attraction, will now be opening in spring of 2023. Aquaman: Power Wave’s history has featured several twists and turns due to the worldwide pandemic and design changes. Originally set to open in 2020, the attraction will be the park’s fifteenth roller coaster.

New construction progress is taking place at Aquaman: Power Wave. Plus, learn more about the high level of ride closures at the park, including Roaring Rapids and Titan. Pirates of Speelunker Cave is a re-imagining of one of the park’s first attractions, The Cave, that operated from 1964 until 1991 and replaces the current version of the attraction—Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure. The Cave featured original characters called Speelunkers that were created exclusively for Six Flags Over Texas.

Six Flags Over Texas has announced that Pirates of Speelunker Cave, an all-new ride experience, will make its debut on Saturday, May 14, 2022. This state-of-the-art attraction will place guests squarely in the middle of a pirate treasure hunt thwarted by resident Speelunkers.

Six Flags Over Texas recently released an updated 2022 park map that includes the blocking out of multiple flat ride attractions, park pathways, cancellation of a planned dining location and more. New updates on the future of Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters have come out and the ride’s future does not look positive.
