Ride Experience & Past Attractions
Six Flags Over Texas is no stranger of 3D, virtual reality-like attractions. In 1979, Six Flags worked with Intamin to design an attraction called the Sensational Sense Machine. Located closer to the park’s front gate, Sensational Sense Machine sat fifty guests and featured a specialized film. During the film, the attraction was set to move in sync with the action via hydraulics. Unfortunately, the Sensational Sense Machine didn’t work quite as planned, typically showing its films in the stationary position. Fast forward to 1995 and Six Flags unveils the Adventure Theater. This all-in-one concept of film, movement and special effects replaced the earlier idea of the Sensational Sense Machine.
Justice League: Battle for Metropolis takes features and experiences from these past attractions and pushes Six Flags’ technical capabilities forward. Riders aboard Justice League: Battle for Metropolis are twisted and turned in their ride vehicles in sync with the actions on film. Justice League: Battle for Metropolis adds a few aspects that the past attractions couldn’t, including virtual target shooting, multiple animatronics and responsive scenic elements. Guests must battle their way through the attraction, saving DC Comics superheroes while they shoot targets and take down Lex Luthor, the Joker and the Lexbots. Once concluded, guests can see how well they and other riders scored.
